Chief’s Welcome On behalf of the Sylvania Township Fire Department, I welcome you to our website. The Sylvania Township Fire Department is an “all hazards” emergency response agency, providing fire suppression, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and technical rescue services for the residents of the city and township. Our department is a career-oriented, part-paid supplemented fire and EMS department currently employing 40 line personnel, 12 officers, 3 chief officers, 8 part-paid personnel and an administrative assistant. Emergency response personnel are cross-trained in a wide array of tactics, allowing them to mitigate numerous types of emergency situations. When the emergency response personnel aren’t busy responding to calls for service out in the community, they’re most likely back at the station training or in the community conducting fire inspections or providing fire safety talks.The Sylvania Township Fire Department strives to be a proactive community organization by providing fire prevention and education presentations, conducting fire inspections and participating in community events.
