Police Chief Rob Boehme
Chief Rob Boehme started his career in law enforcement when he was hired into the Sylvania Township Police Department in August 1981.  Chief Boehme was primarily assigned to road patrol until his promotion to  sergeant  in 1986.  He served a number of years supervising numerous shifts within the road patrol. In January 1998, he was chosen to assume a supervisory, administrative position within the department intended to manage the operations of the department and to coordinate those operations with an outside consultant during a time of great change within the department. In February 1998, Chief Boehme was promoted to Captain, in January 2007, he was promoted to Deputy Chief, and in April 2011, he was promoted to Chief of Police.

Chief Boehme earned a Bachelors degree from the  University  of Toledo and his Ohio Peace Officers Training certificate from Owens Technical College. He has continued his professional education throughout his career and has graduated from Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command, in March 2007.

Chief Boehme grew up in the Sylvania community and graduated from  Sylvania High School  in 1974. Those years, coupled with over 30 years serving this community as a police officer, have provided him the opportunity to personally get to know many of the leaders and citizens within the community. He greatly values public service and is extremely proud of the department’s positive, professional reputation. He looks forward to continuing efforts toward improving the quality of life in Sylvania Township and aligning the departments’ services to fit the needs of the community.

Chief Boehme's  greatest pride and joy is reserved for his two teenage children, a son and daughter, for their character and accomplishments.
