Township Administrator

The administrative staff, under the direction of the Board of Trustees, assist in the administration, enforcement, and execution of the policies and resolutions of the Board. The administrator supervises and directs the activities and affairs of the various divisions of township government, recommends measures for adoption to the Board, and keeps the Board fully advised on the financial conditions of the township.
John assumed the role of Township Administrator on November 8, 2010. Previously, John worked for Lucas County for 31 years, serving for the past 26 years as the Lucas County Director of the Office of Management and Budget. John attended the University of Toledo where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Accounting and an Associate Degree in Business Technology, majoring in Computer Technology.
John has been a Sylvania resident for 19 years. He has served as a Commissioner of The Olander Park System for the past 13 years and is a member of the Sylvania Schools Finance Committee. He and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, named William and Harrison.

Susan started with Sylvania Township in February of 2003 as Assistant Administrator. Graduating from Northwest State Community College, Susan began her career in the private sector where she last served as the Human Resource Manager for an automotive company. In 1997 Susan accepted the position as Clerk for the Board of County Commissioners.
Susan's husband Steve is a State Structural Inspector and they have three adult children. Two of their daughters are cosmetologists and their son is a golf course superintendent in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In her spare time Susan has served on her local Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Treasurer of the Airport Board and is very much involved in the Disciples of Christ Church.
