SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP Trustees

Sylvania Township is directed by a three member Board of Trustees. The Township Officials are elected to staggered four year terms.

Carol has lived in Sylvania Township for over 40 years and has been a life-long volunteer in the Sylvania community and Northwest Ohio. She is a practicing attorney in Sylvania Township and a former high school English teacher. Carol was valedictorian of Sylvania High School, Class of 1969, is a cum laude graduate of Denison University, and an honors graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law, Class of 1978.

Carol and her husband Charlie have been married 30 years and have two adult children, Dave and Katie, both of whom graduated from Sylvania Northview. In 1990, Carol and Charlie established Contrada & Associates, located in Sylvania Township, and dedicate their trial law practice to representing injured people.

Carol’s professional and volunteer commitments include the Toledo Area Metropolitan Council of Governments Executive Board, TMACOG Leadership Committee, Lucas County Improvement Corporation Board of Trustees, Sylvania Area Community Improvement Corporation Executive Committee, Sylvania Area Joint Recreation District Board of Trustees, Toledo Bar Association, Toledo Women’s Bar Association, the Ohio Trial Lawyers Association, the League of Women Voters, and the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce. Carol is a past member of several Sylvania Schools Redistricting Committees, past president of the Northview Choir Boosters, and actively supports the Sylvania Schools. She serves as the Township representative to the Sylvania Area Fire/EMS Advisory Board. She enjoys reading, knitting, cooking, travel, music and theater, and is an avid bridge player and football fan.

Elected in November, 2003, Carol began serving as a Township Trustee January 1, 2004. Carol is committed to preserving and improving the integrity and quality of life in Sylvania Township through her support of community service agencies, the Sylvania Schools, and her focus on strong neighborhoods. Carol encourages and welcomes citizen input and participation in Township issues.

Pam grew up in West Toledo; she is a graduate of St. Ursula Academy, and attended the University of Toledo. Her background in business primarily focused on the Insurance Industry.

In 1977 Pam and her husband transferred to Lansing Michigan, where she worked as a branch manager for the Auto Owners Insurance Company. Pam retired from the insurance industry upon the arrival of their first born child and 24years later re-entered the “work force” as a part time Realtor.

Pam and her husband, Larry, have been married thirty one years and have four children, ages: 28, 26, 24 and 21. Pam and Larry had an opportunity to move “ back home”- after numerous years of company transfers- and they chose Sylvania Township as their permanent home.

Pam successfully worked to lower speed limits on local road ways, led a political action committee to prevent an undue tax burden for local residents, served on the 20/20 Toledo Vision committee and the 2007 Sylvania Land Use Update committee. Pam serves the local community as a Board member for the Sylvania Area Joint Recreation District additionally she is a member of local organizations such as the Lions Club & Toledo Elks. Pam was an officer of the Court while serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate- CASA. As a CASA volunteer she advocates the best interest of children who have been abused, neglected and removed from their home (via the Court system). Pam continues to support local organizations such as the Toledo Ballet, Sight Center of Northwest Ohio, Sylvania Community Action Team and numerous other organizations.

Pam is committed to leadership and able to make tough decisions, while being guided by principles such as: prudent fiscal management, smart sensible development, smaller government and integrity!

Pam was elected trustee in November 2005 and took office January 1, 2006. She enjoys serving the community and improving the quality of life for all citizens of Sylvania Township.
