Zoning Permits
The Planning and Zoning Department reviews and issues permits for the construction of new residential, commercial, and industrial sites within the township. Permits are also required for signage, building additions, remodeling, pools, ponds, or for any accessory structure, such as a garage, carport, fence, gazebo or deck.
For properties possessing well and/or septic, written approval must first be received from the Lucas County Health Dept. prior to receiving a zoning permit. For further information contact Sheila Nash at the Toledo-Lucas County Health Dept. at 419-213-4100.
All Permit applications require the following:
A site plan/survey (drawn to scale) indicating the exact dimensions of the property and structure(s) proposed, in addition to any existing structure(s) or easement(s) of record in addition to the appropriate permit fee.
New Commercial and Industrial
Prior to the issuance of zoning permits for any new multi-family, commercial or industrial project; applicants are required to submit an application for a Project Plan Review. Agencies involved in this process include: the Lucas County Engineers Office, Lucas County Sanitary Engineers Office, Lucas County Plan Commission, Sylvania Township Fire Dept., and if applicable, the Ohio Department Of Transportation, Lucas County Health Dept., City of Sylvania Public Service Dept., City of Toledo Engineering Services, or the Lucas County Soil and Water District.
