Joint Cooperation Agreement
In addition, the trustees authorized Road and Service Superintendent Rob Nash to enter into a joint cooperation agreement with the Lucas County Engineers Office to provide roadway striping. According to Nash, the township department does not have the capabilities to perform this maintenance.

Appointment
The trustees also approved Township Administrator Oliver Turner’s request to appoint Sylvania Township Police Department employee Kevin Pelwecki as the Sylvania Township representative to the Sylvania Sister Cities Commission.

BZA Grants Variances
The Sylvania Township Board of Zoning Appeals approved the variance requests for side setbacks of 2939 and 2937 Stoneleigh Dr. from seven feet to 0 feet. The Trustees had approved the zoning change for this property from R-2, medium-density residential to R-4, high-density residential at the Feb. 5 meeting.

The board approved the request for a proposed commercial zone change in the Central Avenue Overlay District for a side setback on the east and west sides abutting residential from the required 100 feet to 30 feet for the first 400 feet from the centerline of Central Avenue, and 15 feet for the remainder of the property and for a landscape strip on the east and west sides abutting residential from the required 30 feet to 15 feet beyond the 400 feet from the centerline of Central Avenue for the property at 8827 W. Central Ave.

The board also granted an exception for the addition of a legal non-conforming building and a variance for a front setback from 120 feet to 80 feet, which conforms to the original building constructed in 1964 at 7825 W. Central Ave.
